Face of the Day, October 30, 2011!

Today, I really wanted to do a more modern spin on a classic pin up look. So I opted to use a white shimmery shadow for the lid and highlight, as opposed to matte. While I did use matte browns in the crease, using a crease brush to blend out really helped to carry down some of the shimmer to give an overall effect that I was pleased with. Winged cat liner also helps to make the lashes appear longer. I also toned down the lips by using a lip stain that was in a deeper shade of red rather than a bright fire-engine red. I hope you all enjoy and can find some inspiration in this! =) Stay beautiful! And here's the list of products used!

October 2011 Favorites!

First and foremost, something is wrong with the charger for my digital camera, so I have reverted back to using my webcam until the new charger comes in the mail. (((SORRY!)))

I am sooo excited for the Avon expert mega palette! As soon as I get my order in, I will show it to you guys! (Feel lucky because it won't even be available to be sold yet hehe) So if you follow my blog, or subscribe to my You Tube channel, you will get the preview on the newest items that have not even hit the Avon catalogs yet. Also, I forgot to mention this in the video, but I did order the 6 new lipsticks that are Limited Edition that are in the White Gold collection coming out for the holidays this year. I will be doing a separate video for those as well!

Polish of the Week =)

So I decided to give ELF polishes another chance. After the first time I used an ELF polish in a red shade, it stained my natural nails to a pinkish color. (I did not use a base coat, FYI.) So this time I thought, since I had bought maybe five or so ELF shades, I would give a more festive fall color a shot. This time I chose the color Chocolate, and used a simple Japanese nail art polish in gold glitter that I bought off of eBay to run along the tips. I'm not sure why my camera tinted this picture a purple-ish hue. I really like this look and I think it's pretty festive for the season! =)

If you're interested in ELF products, they are available at http://eyeslipsface.com or at your local Target, if your state or country has a Target. This nail polish was only a dollar! One coat was pretty pigmented, and two coats really did the job. Apply a nice top coat, I used OPI, and you're set to go!

Face of the Day, October 20, 2011

I wanted to play around with some colors this morning, and I decided to do an Autumn inspired "bonfire" look. I especially wanted to do some color dabbling since I am returning back to my job from maternity leave on Monday, and can't wear such bright and bold make up there, since it is a law office. So I came up with this bonfire inspired look using yellows, oranges, reds and browns. I hope you all enjoy!

Polish of the Week =)

Avon Speed Dry Nail Enamel in Limeade

This week I opted for a very summer-ish color, setting aside the fact that we are already into fall. It was on sale through Avon for only $1.99 so I had to pick it up. It's a very sheer and satin light green, and the color is buildable. The photo above shows two coats of the polish, along with OPI's top coat.

If you wish to purchase this polish, you can visit my Avon store here. The polish may or may not still be available depending on their quantities and supplies left. However, I'm sure it will make a reappearance next spring. =)

PS - The date stamp on my photo is incorrect, of course! I forgot to turn it off, hehe.

xox,
Dawn
