Beauty Stat Review: Arbonne Products!

You are probably familiar with companies that offer opportunities for individuals to be independent consultants and what not. There are several out there but today I’m here to review some products from Arbonne for you. They offer a wide variety of products ranging from skin care to cosmetics to health care and diet and the list goes on. You may check out their products at http://arbonne.com

First I am going to begin with the cosmetic products that I have tried….

The lipstick I tested is from the Treasures of the Rainforest Collection and is in the shade Nectar. Nectar is a gorgeous orange shade. It is very bright and bold on the lips. The formulation of the lipstick is amazing; it has a smooth and creamy texture. There is absolutely nothing drying about this lipstick what so ever! This particular shade has no shimmer or sparkle in it either.

As for the wear time on this lipstick, it is only for a few hours. If you are eating/drinking/smoking/talking while wearing it, you may feel the need to reapply sooner. It actually wears off very nicely though and maintains and even coat on your lips as opposed to being blotchy. This lipstick is not scented at all which is a plus, and has no taste to it really (not that you’re eating it anyway!)

The packaging is very sleek. Arbonne is listed on the side in a metallic red along with the Arbonne symbol. The name of the shade is located on the bottom of the tube as is with most lip products.

The eye shadow quad is called Color Your World (also from the Treasures of the Rainforest Collection), and contains four shadows. All of the shades have some type of shimmer to them, there is no matte shade in this collection. The lightest shade is a nude shade and is called Bamboo, the darker brown shade is called Earth and is a very warm mid-toned brown. The mid-toned teal shade is called Waterfall and is actually a very wearable shade of blue. Finally, the purple shade is called Passionflower and is quite a nice medium shade of purple.

The eye shadows have a strange scent to them that I can’t really put my name on but I do believe it’s because these are natural products. However, as I noted, I did not find this issue to be the same with the lipstick. As far as wear, they did not crease (but of course I used them with an eye shadow primer) and I found them to stay just as bright and vibrant at the end of the day as when I had applied them hours and hours prior. They are all very pigmented and the texture is smooth. I did not experience any fall out while apply these eye shadows.

The quad actually comes wrapped in a very nice velvety satchel inside of the box. As you can see, the packaging is quite cute and sleek, with the Arbonne symbol in metallic blue on the front of the palette. It does come with a mirror on the inside, but there are no sponge tip applicators with this palette as you may find with others. The name of the palette is on the back of the product along with the individual names to each eye shadow. A small instruction booklet also comes with the quad for those of you who may be new to applying eye shadow.

The clutch is very colorful and bright. I found that it is not as spacious as it may appear. It snaps shut as you fold it in half (please refer to pictures). It is very sturdy though. You can see that the inside is made of a silky fabric, and has the Arbonne label on the inside. There are some fringes on the zippers, again with the Arbonne logo. The back of the clutch feels to be a suede like material. I do like the colorful design and the fact that it is so colorful and bright. It would be a great statement clutch. In my personal opinion, I dislike clutches because I find they are a pain to carry around being that they have no straps/handles on them. But, if you love to collect clutches, and like bold, colorful pieces, this may be right up your alley. As I have said, it is crafted very well.

It did have a slightly odd and strong scent of “newness,” for lack of a better word, when I initially opened the package but it has since then faded after use.

The Treasures of the Rainforest Collection is available at http://arbonne.com for $98.00 and it consists of the lipstick Nectar, the Color Your World palette and the clutch bag. I have not been able to find these items listed on the web-site separately for individual purchase so I believe you may have to buy the complete set if you want any of these items.

The next few items that I have tested I consider to be a “health food” type of product. I will start off with the Arbonne essentials nutrition bars. They are labeled as dietary supplements. I have tried these in two flavors, “Chocolate” and “Fruit.” I did not particularly care for either of these. The chocolate one had a very bitter flavor, I found it to be so bitter that I could not really eat more than a couple of bites. (This is that typical chocolate/cardboard flavor you find with other dietary bars). The fruit bar I thought was much better than the chocolate bar, but still was a bit too sweet for me somehow.

Both of these bars only have 170 calories for the entire bar, which isn’t too bad if you’re watching your caloric intake. They are formulated to give you a healthy balance of protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals and claim to satisfy your hunger and boost your energy. They have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration if that is important for you. The retail price is $24.00 according to the Arbonne web-site and it appears that you would get 10 bars in each pack.

The other item that I have tried was the energy fizz sticks, perhaps the most interesting product I have tested by Arbonne. I tried these in two flavors, “pomegranate” and “citrus.” I preferred the pomegranate flavor over the citrus but I did enjoy both.

They are quite interesting in comparison to other products sold like this. They actually fizz up when you pour them into a glass of water (so I would be careful when pouring into a full bottle of water). It’s actually really neat to watch, it kind of fizzes up like Alkaselzter. It gives it a nice fizzy kick, almost like it’s carbonated, but I am not sure exactly what ingredient in this product causes it to fizz. The taste was not overwhelmingly sweet but was not flat and boring either. I enjoyed them.

These energy fizz sticks only have 13 calories in one pack. You can purchase them for $32.00 on the Arbonne web-site and you get 20 packs in each box. Again, these have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. These products also claim to promote alertness and enhance cognitive performance and endurance. I didn’t find that they gave me as much of a boost as an energy drink would but I still liked them none the less.

As far as the health products are concerned, I would not purchase these because they are very pricey and I didn’t like them enough to spend that much money on these products.

However, the cosmetics are a great quality product and I would consider purchasing these again. On the Arbonne website (http://arbonne.com) they have many other cosmetic items such as blush, bronzer, foundation, mascara, lipstick, etc. You may not be able to buy the quad or lipstick I refer to in this review separately, but there are plenty of other products that they offer which I am sure are the same remarkable quality.

My absolutely favorite product out of all of the products I have tested is the lipstick. I would love to purchase a great, everyday nude color from Arbonne. The lipsticks range a little over $20 for one lipstick, but I promise you, the quality is absolutely awesome.

*** I am not affiliated with Arbonne nor am I a promoter for this company. All products were provided free of charge for the purposes of reviewing. All opinions are 100% true, unbiased and my own. I did not receive compensation in exchange for this review.

Beauty Stat Review: Body Facts by Face Facts!

Sometimes we all need a little boost in the morning and often enough a great bath and shower gel or body lotion with an amazing scent can get us inspired and motivated for the day.

You may or may not remember a review I did a while ago for a company called Face Facts consisting of reviewing their entire lipstick and lip liner collections. I’m back to review another collection from them called “Body Facts.”

I’ll first start out with the amazing handcrafted scented bar soaps that I have tested. I have these in the two scents they offer; pomegranate and pomegranate & pear. They retail for $7.50.

At first I was a little skeptical about trying these. I must admit that it has been years and years since I’ve used a bar soap for anything, as a hand soap or a body soap. I do like the marbled appearance of them, as though fruit is swirled through out. I also must say that they do have a delightful, light and fruity scent.

I was shocked at how well these lathered on a loofa. They also left my skin feeling so squeaky clean after a shower it was pretty amazing. I think I like these better than most body washes I have been using lately!
I personally didn’t think that they left too much of a scent on my skin after the shower, but I must have been wrong. I walked past my boyfriend about 15 minutes after I got out of the shower and got dressed, and he inquired about what kind of perfume I was wearing. I told him that I hadn’t put any on yet! I guess maybe I couldn’t pick up on it but he sure could! Later on that evening, he was in the bathroom and could smell the soap from the shower. He really liked the scent, and I do as well.

As far as ingredients, as you can see in the photographs, they are made with 100% natural ingredients, are totally paraben free and there is 100% NO animal testing what so ever! Specific ingredients in each scent of soap vary on the scent, but you can refer to the image for a detailed list.

The next two products kind of go together. They are the Face Facts revitalizing body lotion and body wash. These both have a similar scent to them but it’s not quite exactly the same.  They are both offered on the web-site for $25.50. The great thing about these products is that they have pumps. I absolutely love it – it’s a no fuss no hassle kind of thing!

Again, these are made with all 100% natural ingredients. Please refer to the photograph for a very detailed list of all ingredients in the products. The backs of the labels are shown in the image. The product on the left is the body lotion while the product on the right is the body wash.

First, I’ll start off with the body wash. This is probably my favorite out of the two. The scent is absolutely great. It’s a very light citrus scent. I picked that up before even reading the ingredients on the back. The body wash smells exactly like grapefruit to me (and that is one of the ingredients in it surprise surprise!) But I also pick up on a lemony/lime scent. I sometimes dislike citrus scented body washes/sprays/lotions because they borderline the scent of a cleaning product – but I did not have that issue with these at all.

I find it to be very uplifting when used in the morning. It leaves a light, clean and fresh fragrance on your body. If paired with the lotion, the scent will last for a much longer amount of time obviously. The body wash lathers up really well on a loofa with about 2-4 pumps of product.

The body lotion on the other hand has a much lighter scent but as I stated above, it smells very similar to the body wash and I think it was intended to be that way as they have some of the same ingredients.

I like the softness that this lotion adds to my skin but I do find it to be just a tad bit greasy at first (like many lotions) until the product has a chance to “soak” into your skin, so to speak. After that, it leaves a nice light lingering scent throughout the day. I have tested this on my body, however not my face, and I would not recommend to use a body lotion on your face, especially if you have sensitive facial skin like I do. However, being that these are made with 100% natural ingredients, you may be able to if you really wanted to.

I don’t have any issues with ANY of these products leaving a residue on my skin. There is no oiliness, greasiness, and what not to these products. (With the exception that I mentioned about the body lotion being greasy until it sets in) I am actually going to mention again how amazed I am with the bar soaps. They truly leave your skin feeling so clean it’s practically squeaky!

Overall, these products may seem a little pricey and upscale but they are made with natural and organic ingredients and often times I will find that organic and natural products have a much higher price tag. I don’t mind it if I really like the products.

I am absolutely in love with the body wash and the handcrafted bar soaps. The body lotion I do like, but I just think the other two products mentioned are really the best of the bunch. If I had to recommend any ONE product from this line, it would be the handcrafted scented bar soap in Pomegranate & Pear. =)

These products are available at http://facefactsbylori.com. You should also browse around and check out the lipsticks and lip liners they have! (Refer to my review of Lip Facts for those product reviews and more photographs!)

Beauty Stat Review: Face Facts by Lori LIP PRODUCTS!

Occasionally we fall into the same every day routine and that consists of the same every day boring nude shades that a lot of us tend to use because they feel safe to us. Today, I’m here to show you girls some new lipsticks and lip liners that can switch up your routine from drab to fab!

These products are from a company called Face Facts. The specific line of lip products is called Lip Facts. They strive to produce all natural, luxury cosmetic products which are made with many organic ingredients. Lori Hoffman is not only a professional make-up artist but also the founder of Face Facts.

Other information you may want to know about Lip Facts… They do not test on animals. The packaging is 100% recyclable. These products contain mineral pigments. They do not contain: parabens, mineral oil, petroleum, certified dykes or lakes, or lead.

I will first begin with the Lip Facts Lipstick. The website (http://facefactsbylori.com) says that these lipsticks are 100% natural, color-rich, longwearing, and have an ultra emollient formulation. The creamy base conditions lips and provides a stay-put stay. Botanical ingredients provide nourishing moisturizers, smoothing waxes, non-greasy oils, and vitamins. They are lightly scented with Ylang Ylang.

First, I will start with the packaging. I really enjoy the packaging and find it to be quite sturdy. The lipstick tube itself has a small beveled area which snaps snugly onto the cap. I have found that the caps do not fall off, which is a fear of all of us if you are like me and enjoy tossing your lipstick shade of the day into your purse. No messes here! As far as the colors of the packaging, it is very elegant. In the photographs, the purple really draws out of the packaging but it is actually a very beautiful maroon type of shade. The Face Facts symbol is on the front of the lipstick in gold. There is also a gold band around the lipstick as well. On the bottom, everything you need to know about the lipstick is there, the name of the shade, weight of the product, where it was distributed, etc. I do wish that the outside of the product did state Lip Facts though, but that really is not a big deal.

The exterior packaging that the product actually comes in also states the name of the company, the shade, some facts about the product and the ingredients.

Now, let’s talk about the actual product inside. These lipsticks are absolutely amazing! These are basically like long-wear lipsticks, in my opinion! (I did wear these paired with the Lip Facts Lip Liner – will be mentioned towards the end of the review) I have worn most of these colors all day long without having to touch up. Of course, throughout the day, and eating and talking at work, they do fade a bit but they are still surprisingly and amazingly pigmented at the end of the day. I did find that if I paired one of my lip glosses over it, it did affect the wear of the lipstick, but I didn’t find it to be too bothersome to just take a few seconds of time to reapply. No big deal here either.

There is a slightly typical lipstick scent to these lipsticks. I didn’t find it to be really strong or anything, but it’s just something to note that these do have that smell (at least I thought so).
I do enjoy the formula to these lipsticks I must say. They are very creamy (with one exception which I will get to later). 90% of the time I am wearing these, I do NOT wear a lip gloss over top! You just don’t need to. They have an awesome creamy finish and they are not drying to your lips at all. Of course, I do moisturize my lips before putting lipstick on which I suggest everyone does.

I  have tested all of the shades that Face Facts currently offer, and you can see them swatched in the photograph here. From top to bottom, they are: Berry Mauve, Almond Cream, Soft Autumn, Plum Brandy, Passion Fruit, Ivory Frost, Bronze Shimmer and Raisin.
My favorites out of this bunch are Almond Cream and Passion Fruit. Almond Cream is the perfect nude shade! It’s not too light and not too dark. Passion Fruit is a great deep pinky mauve color however swatches a little bit different than its true color. It looks amazing on the lips. Bronze Shimmer is another great color, but it is a deeper, darker bronze shade and would look great on deeper skin tones.

Most of these colors are bold but they do offer two nude shades (Almond Cream and Soft Autumn). I do however think all of these shades are wearable regardless of the pop of color that comes alongside most of them!

I just wanted to note that the texture of Ivory Frost is almost gritty to me. It’s basically the shimmer/glitter in it that makes it feel this way to the lips. However, this color cannot be worn alone (unless you have a very bold personality!) I have worn this over top of other lipsticks, applied with a lip brush, or on my lips as a lipstick and then paired with a pink lip gloss over the top, which actually creates a very nice baby pink shimmery lip. When wearing Ivory Frost, as it wore off, it did not leave residual bits of shimmer/glitter on my lips. (Totally a plus)

Lip Facts lipsticks can be purchased at http://facefactsbylori.com and they retail for $14.99 each.

Now, I will move on to the Lip Facts Lip Liner. According to the Face Facts website, these colors are made from harvested California Cedar Wood. They are designed to prevent fading, bleeding and feathering. You can also use these as a base coat before applying Face Facts lipstick for longer lasting coverage.

The packaging for these is similar to the lipstick in color. You get that gorgeous maroon shade on the pencil end, and it comes with a classy gold top. Again, everything you need to know about the product is on the label; the name of the shade, where it was made, etc. These actually do not have the Face Facts logo on them but actually just say “Lip Facts.” The cap fits snugly on the pencil and does not fall off in your handbag or purse.
The exterior packaging that the product actually comes in also states the name of the company, the shade, some facts about the product and the ingredients.

I find these lip liners to be just as impressive as the lipsticks. They are creamy, they are pigmented and they don’t give you that “catch and drag” feel when you apply them. They are great to use as a base for your lipsticks and I do find that these actually help the lipstick last longer, and prevent fading.

Something to note is that these lip liners do have a strong “woodsy” scent when you open the packaging, but they are made with California Cedar Wood so that would be the end result of that obviously. I did not find this to be bothersome or irritating. They are not retractable lip pencils and will therefore need to be sharpened.

I have these in five shades, although six were sent to me. One was packaged in a box that said Cranberry, but it was actually Praline. (Sad face) The shades that I do have though are: Praline, Plum, Mocha, Hazelnut, and Wine. These are listed from left to right to correspond with the swatch photograph of the lip liners. You will notice there are two swatches of each lip liner in the picture. One is a one pass swatch to show how it will actually apply to the lips when used as a liner once, and the more rectangular swatch is actually me building up the color and shading in to show you how it will look if applied as a base to the lips.

The Lip Facts lip liners retail for $10.99 and are available at http://facefactsbylori.com

Overall, these products did amaze me. I have fallen in love with them and if more shades were available I would probably purchase them.

The price may be steep for some of you, but if you think about the prices that you would pay at a drugstore for a lipstick and/or lip liner, they really are not that steep. They have around the same price point as a MAC product. Drugstore lipsticks average for anywhere from around $7.00 to $10.00 so these are only a few dollars more and definitely worth it!

Beauty Stat Review: Desert Essence

If you have sensitive skin, you may notice that sometimes perfumed body lotions, face washes, daily face moisturizers, or other skin care products may break you out. I’m here to share with you a line that is providing us with organic products to use on a daily basis for an affordable price.

Desert Essence Organics have a large variety of products available at http://desertessence.com for you to browse through. These products range from face washes to body lotions to shampoos to toothpaste, and the list goes on. Today, I will share with you the products that I have had the opportunity to test out from Desert Essence.

I do want to note that about half of these products did come in individual boxes/packaging, however I felt that it would not add to the photograph to include it because of the volume of products I am reviewing.
According to the Desert Essence website… The desert is the source of their ingredients. They create high quality natural products. They clearly label all ingredients on both the product and their website for your convenience. They do not test on animals. Their products have no: parabens, artificial fragrances/dyes, petroleum compounds including mineral oil, petrolatum and paraffin, no SLS, PEGS, PPG, MEA, DEA or TEA, and no glycols or phthalates. They are: vegetarian/vegan, recyclable and biodegradable, contain soy, use renewable resources and are cruelty free.

I have sort of categorized these products into four categories to make it easier to mention and review to you all. The first category is “face lotions.”

I also want to make a notation for ease of reference that I have combination to oily skin on my face and as far as body is concerned, I would consider my skin type to be normal.

The first product I will be mentioning is the Desert Essence “Daily Essential Defense Lotion SPF 15 for Normal Skin.” According to the Desert Essence website, this lotion will protect skin against premature aging, penetrate to provide deep, long-lasting moisture and restore elasticity that your skin loses through environmental stresses. It is made from a shrub in America’s Sonora Desert. It has jojoba oil in it, along with aloe vera and soybean oil to help skin’s natural radiance. Another key ingredient is millet oil, which contains essential fatty acids to help encourage skin renewal.

This lotion is geared towards individuals with normal skin types, so I was a little leery of using it underneath my foundation because of my own personal skin type. . I do have combination to oily skin and I was able to use this as a daily moisturizer under my foundation and as a nightly moisturizer before going to bed. I did not experience this product causing my foundation to break down despite the fact that my skin gets oily in particular areas. It held up very well.  This product has a very mild scent to it. The texture is nice and it does not leave your skin feeling oily or greasy. The SPF 15 is a plus as always.

I can’t say that I really noticed any protection against premature aging because I am not currently experiencing any wrinkles and/or fine lines, but I’m all about using products to prevent that as everyone should be!

The Desert Essence Daily Essential Defense Lotion SPF 15 for Normal Skin is available at http://desertessence.com and retails for $18.99. You will receive 2 fl. oz. of product.

The next product  is the Desert Essence “Thoroughly Clean Oil Control Lotion.” According to the website, this lotion will hydrate oily/combination skin without clogging pores, help reduce oil and blemishes, and leave skin velvety smooth and shine-free. It has organic chamomile and lavender oil, as well as tea tree oil, which has natural antiseptic properties and helps to soothe and calm skin, while improving texture and clarity. It leaves skin with a matte appearance.

I absolutely love this product! This is one of my favorite products that I have tested out! I was a little leery about this because products like this usually don’t work for me. I have tried multiple primers as well and found that they don’t work and I still tend to get oily in my “T” zone. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this product! I have been using it every day under my foundation and will continue to use it as well. It leaves my skin matte, and for the most part, keeps me oil-free. I did notice that paired with different foundations, sometimes oil will seep through, but I think a large majority of that depends on the particular foundation and whether or not it tends to break down, etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed this and can’t say it enough. You can pick up on the tea tree oil in this product as far as scent is concerned. Tea tree oil has a very strong scent but it’s not unbearable in this particular lotion.
The retail price for the Desert Essence “Thoroughly Clean Oil Control Lotion” is $12.99 and is available at http://desertessence.com. You will receive 4 fl. oz. of this product. To me, this is definitely worth it’s weight in gold! 5 stars!

The next product is the Desert Essence “Gentle Nourishing Day Cream SPF 15 for Dry & Sensitive Skin.” According to the website, this will rehydrate dry and sensitive skin, protect against premature aging and leave skin feeling softer, smoother and more supple. It contains Argan oil, aloe vera, and antioxidant rich white tea extract to strengthen the skins natural moisture barrier and prevent free radical damage.

I found that this product did not work for me. Again, the reasoning in my opinion is because I have oily/combination skin and this is formulated for dry/sensitive skin. When used underneath foundation, I ended up being a greasy mess after approximately four to five hours. But, based on my own experiences, I can formulate an educated guess that this would work wonderfully for you if you do in fact have dry/sensitive skin. However, I would not recommend this to anyone with normal to combination to oily skin as it may be a little bit too moisturizing for you and therefore give you an end result of oily skin.

The scent is again very mild. This product did not irritate my skin what so ever. It would be great to use as a night cream just for the moisturizing factor of it.

You can purchase this product at http://desertessence.com and it retails for $18.99. You will receive 2 fl. oz. of product.

The next product is the Desert Essence “Thoroughly Clean Face Wash” for Normal Skin. According to the website, this will effectively clean without feeling harsh, provide skin with potent antioxidant protection and help improve skins texture and clarity through regular use. This uses exclusive Eco-Harvest Tea Tree Oil formulated with organic Echinacea and licorice root extract to soothe as it cleanses. Green and white tea extracts protect and mineral rich sea kelp helps nourish skin to keep it looking vibrant and healthy.

I absolutely love this! This is a dead ringer tie with the Thoroughly Clean Face Lotion as far as favorites are concerned for me. This has helped with my residual acne breakouts so much! You won’t notice an overnight different by using this but overtime it has helped. The scent of the tea tree oil is lingering but it’s not too strong to give you a headache or anything. It leaves my skin feeling very clean and very fresh. I use this alongside with my Clarisonic Mia 2 and find that I have awesome results.  I can also say that I do notice my skin’s texture is a lot smoother since I have started using this. This should be paired with the Thoroughly Clean Face Lotion for best results (according to the packaging.) I didn’t find that this made a real big difference being that it was formulated for normal skin and I have combination/oily skin. The texture of this product is rather thin, but it actually lathers up very nicely once on the skin, mixed with a little bit of water.

This product is available at http://desertessence.com and retails for $9.29. You will receive 8.5 fl. oz. This product, again,  is worth its weight in gold!

The next product is the Desert Essence “Daily Essential De-Puffing Eye Cream.” According to the website, this product revitalizes tired, puffy eyes, soothes delicate skin under eyes and refreshes as it smoothes your skin. It is a antioxidant rich blend of hibiscus, lavender and pomegranate extracts to comfort fatigued eyes. It is also rich with vitamin c, jojoba oil, and vitamin e.

I don’t particularly suffer from puffy eyes. My eyes are slightly puffy for maybe about five minutes right when I first wake up but then they go down after only a few minutes of being awake. I, however, tried this product right when I woke up. I can’t say that I noticed a difference in the time that it took for my eyes to “de-puff” after waking up.  The scent of this product is very light and fresh, just like all of the other products that I have tested out. I can’t say that I know for a fact this product works because I don’t suffer from puffy eyes, but if it works as well as the other products I have tested for Desert Essence then I am sure it would be worth the money.

This product is available at http://desertessence.com and retails for $15.99. You will receive 1 fl. oz. in product.

The next product is the Desert Essence “Gentle Nourishing Organic Cleanser” for dry and sensitive skin. According to the website, this product will provide effective cleansing gentle enough for dry/sensitive skin, leave skin feeling moisturized and remove makeup without irritating or stinging eyes. It has apple juice, aloe vera, chamomile, and cucumber extracts which moisturize dry/sensitive skin to leave you with a fresh glow.
I, again, have combination/oily skin and this product did not work for me. It simply provided too much moisture to my skin and I found that as a result, I ended up with oily skin faster than normal. Due to my experiences with this product, I would assume that this would definitely work for someone with dry/sensitive skin. My boyfriend tested this product out as well, because he has just regular normal skin, and this issue did not occur for him. I think if you have normal to dry skin, you can get away with using this product, however anything from oily/combination, I would pass on this cleanser. The texture is slightly thick as well, but the scent is very pleasant. I do wish the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash had this scent!

This product is available at http://desertessence.com and retails for $13.99. You will receive 6.7 fl. oz. of product.

Another one of my favorites is the Desert Essence “Nourishing Body Oil.” This product is supposed to leave skin feeling healthy and silky smooth, according to the website. It features a blend of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. It has a blend of ten super oils including safflower, jojoba, grape seed and soybean. It’s scented with cactus flower. It can also be used for aromatherapy and as a massage oil.

I love this stuff! I use it nightly as a moisturizer before I go to bed. Just like any other body oil, it kind of gives your skin this sheen, sort of like a glow. I absolutely love it! It leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth without being greasy. It actually absorbs into your skin very well. The scent is not nearly as floral as I had expected but there is an interesting note in this product that I can’t quite pick up on. Either way, the scent is lovely! I would definitely purchase this product.

Unfortunately, this product had leaked all over the box by the time I opened it when it arrived. It wasn’t too much of a hassle to clean up, but just something to note. There is not a seal on this product so it may get messy in the lieu of being shipped.

You can purchase this product at http://desertessence.com and it retails for $9.99. You will receive 6.4 fl. oz.

Desert Essence “Perfect Pistacho Foot Repair Cream” is another one of my favorites. According to the website, this will provide intense moisture to restore softness to dry skin. It will smooth rough skin, and support skin repair. It has organic pistachio nut oil which will quickly absorb into the roughest skin, to soften the area. It also has shea butter to deeply hydrate skin, while macadamia seed oil begins the process of regeneration.

I love this product! I don’t suffer from extremely dry/cracked heels or feet, but I notice that in the summer when I wear sandals more my feet to tend to get more dry. I do wear high heels a lot as well and notice that my skin on my feet can be a little rough in certain spots. I love to use this at night and put on a pair of socks before I go to bed because I find that it locks in the moisture and when I wake up, they are as soft as a baby’s feet! I also use it in the morning as well. This cream is definitely another product that’s worth its weight in gold! The scent of this is absolutely amazing as well.

This product retails for $8.99 for 3.5 fl. oz. at http://desertorganics.com

Another body cream I tried was the Desert Essence “Natural Shea Butter Body Cream.” According to the website, this product claims to restore moisture and softness to the skin and smooth skin without leaving an oily residue. It contains shea butter, macadamia nut extract and cactus extract, along with vitamins A, B-complex, C, D, E and 18 essential amino acids to keep skin healthy and strong.

I really like using this body cream as a daily cream after getting out of the shower in the morning. It has a light fresh fragrance that isn’t too overpowering and will not conflict with your perfume. It leaves skin feeling soft and smooth all day long. You have to use a little bit of effort to rub this into your skin but it is definitely worth it. This product also works awesome as a hand cream.

This product retails for $9.99 at http://desertessence.com and you will receive 6 fl. oz. of product.

I also reviewed the Desert Essence “Pumpkin Spice Hand Repair Cream.” According to the website, this will moisturize your skin, protect against daily environmental stress on the hands and help to even out your skin tone. It has a high concentration of organic oils and extracts such as jojoba oil, organic pumpkin seed oil, and licorice leaf extracts. It is rich with vitamins A, C, E and K, along with zinc.

This is an absolutely awesome product. I almost forgot to photograph this product because it has found a new home in my purse! I take this everywhere with me. The scent is absolutely amazing! It smells just like a pumpkin! It leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth as it should. I can’t comment on the claim of evening out your skin tone because I don’t find that my hands have an uneven skin tone to them. However, I absolutely adore this. It is a little hard to work into your skin, in my opinion, because it feels greasy for a few moments but once it absorbs into your hands, it leaves them soft and supple.

This product retails for $8.99 and is available at http://desertessence.com. You will receive 4 fl. oz. of product.

The last two products I am going to review together. They are the “100% Organic Tea Tree Oil” and the “Organic Lavender Tea Tree Oil.”

The organic tea tree oil can effectively treat problem skin with regular use, deep clean pores and help relieve redness, and has other multiple uses around the household. (According to the website)

The organic lavender tea tree oil can help soothe and calm problematic skin, offer relaxing aromatherapy, and can also be used to freshen laundry. (According to the website)

Tea tree oil has many antiseptic properties about it and can be used to treat acne. I find that you should dilute it with water at first if you are unsure of how your skin will react. These work just as well as any other tea tree oil in this regard. I have not actually tried to use the lavender tea tree oil to freshen laundry so I cannot comment on that, but that is quite interesting. Tea tree oil has a very repulsive scent to me and sometimes I can’t even bare to smell it. It also leaves a lingering scent for hours after you use it. It’s not a very pleasant product to work with but it works and it lives up to its claims. If you suffer from acne and have tried many other products, I would recommend giving tea tree oil a shot. I would recommend that you purchase the 100% tea tree oil as opposed to the one with lavender in it if you are planning to use it for that purpose.  I have a bottle of tea tree oil already in my medicine cabinet and I find that these two products work just as well as the one that I already have that cost more than these two products.

Both of these products are available at http://desertessence.com . The 100% Organic Tea Tree Oil retails for $9.49 for .5 fl. oz. The Lavender Tea Tree Oil retails for $8.99 and you will receive .6 fl. oz.

Overall, my favorite products are the Thoroughly Clean Face Wash, the Thoroughly Clean Face Lotion, the Nourishing Body Oil with Cactus Flower, and the Perfect Pistachio Foot Repair Cream. I am absolutely in love with these products and they are all amazing.

I think that in the bunch of products that I have reviewed, as far as the skincare products are concerned, there is something for everybody. Desert Essence seems to make it a point to aim products towards certain skin types, so if you are interested in these products, you should have no problem finding one to suit your specific skincare needs.
